The “Fachschaft” (student council) consists of the entire student body of a faculty. Often, however, only the "active" student representatives, i.e. the students who are actively involved in the student council, are referred to as “Fachschaftler”. The Fachschaft MACH/CIW consists of students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Chemical Engineering. That's about 40 people from all study courses of these faculties.
