During the Bachelor's degree course, a total of 6 ECTS must be completed in the area of “interdisciplinary qualifications”. Interdisciplinary qualifications (Überfachliche Qualifikationen) include non-technical modules, for example modules from other subject areas, language courses or other courses offered by the House of Competence (HoC), the Studium Generale or the (FORUM).

3 of the 6 ECTS are fixed: At least one of the following modules must be chosen:

• Ethik und Stoffkreisläufe (3 ECTS)
• Industriebetriebswirtschaftslehre (3 ECTS)

Modules amounting to 3 ECTS can be chosen freely. They can be either

• both of the above modules
• any modules worth at least 3 ECTS (e.g. HoC or FORUM courses)
• SmartMentoring (3 ECTS)
• Data-driven modeling with Python (3 ECTS)
